FAA A&P Certification · Complete Prep

The only A&P prep for the written AND the oral.

Every other tool prepares you for the written. But the oral is where most people fail. ASM covers all three — written, oral, and practical — so you walk into your DME ready.

The A&P Prep Problem

You've been buying A&P prep in pieces.

Prepware for the written. Baker's for the oral. YouTube to fill the gaps. ChatGPT for the rest.

Every A&P candidate is stitching together four or five tools — and still missing pieces. The industry's secret: the written is the easy part. The oral is where most people actually fail.

We built ASM to fix that.

How ASM Works

Written to certified. In one place.

Every online rating includes a written drill, deep O&P prep, and an AI tutor calibrated to your background.

Open jet engine cowl showing turbine fan blades

The oral is where DMEs catch people.

You have to verbally explain how systems work — magnetos, turbines, exhaust inspections. We teach you to understand them, not just recite them.

FAQ

Common questions.

What makes ASM different from Prepware or Dauntless?

Those are great question banks for the writtens — you don't really need us for that. Where they stop is where we start: the oral and practical with your DME. That's the hardest part of the A&P and where most candidates actually fail. ASM covers all three phases, one place, one price.

How much does it cost?

Online: $299 per rating, or $599 for all three. Each includes written AND oral prep. Payment plans available: 3 or 6 months, no subscription.

In-person (San Antonio): $2,000 for all three writtens, plus $800 for O&P. See the in-person program page for details.

Do I still need Prepware or another written prep tool?

No — the written drill is built into every ASM rating. If you already own Prepware or Dauntless, they'll work fine alongside us. We focus on the oral and practical, which is what nobody else covers well digitally.

Is this a Part 147 program?

No. ASM is FAA exam preparation, not a substitute for Part 147 or the requirements of 14 CFR Part 65. If Part 147 is required for your pathway, our in-person program in San Antonio may help. The FAA determines eligibility, authorization, and certification.

What's the difference between ASM and Total Aviation Staffing?

ASM (Aviation School of Maintenance) prepares you for FAA A&P certification. Total Aviation Staffing (TAS) is our partner staffing firm — once you're certified, they connect you with employers in their network.

Do you guarantee I'll pass?

No — and no honest school should. The FAA scores your exams, not us. What we do guarantee: if the online course isn't a fit, full refund within 7 days. And we're built to get you walk-in ready, so you don't need luck.
